Ms. Marie Lissa Letin

Chairwoman / Co-Founder

Ms. Marie Lissa Letin, MBA – is chairwoman and co-founder of the Haitian American Chamber Commerce of Florida of Treasure Coast (HACCOF- Treasure Coast), which is the first chapter of the Haitian American Chamber of Commerce of Florida (HACCOF).

As chairwoman of the Treasure Coast Chapter, she provides visionary leadership for the Chamber and the Treasure Coast business community.

She is responsible to the Board of Directors for all activities needed to ensure the Chamber’s success in meeting its objectives in business and community development, corporate and institutional relations, membership and member services and legislative advocacy and government affairs. She is responsible for strategic planning, interpretation of policy, the development of the Chamber’s annual Program of Action, organization structure, budget and finances, volunteer development and membership growth.

Ms. Letin is currently employed at the U.S. Department of Education as Financial Analyst for the Historically Black Colleges & Universities Capital Financing Program. The HBCU Capital Loan Fund provides low-cost capital to finance improvements to the infrastructure of the nation's historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). Specifically, the program provides HBCUs with access to capital financing or refinancing for the repair, renovation, and construction of classrooms, libraries, laboratories, dormitories, instructional equipment, and research instrumentation. Prior to this position, Ms. Letin worked for the Small Business Administration as a Commercial Loan Specialist. Among other responsibilities, she conducted a comprehensive review of the participant lender's 7(a) loan making, closing, servicing and liquidation activities. Before joining the Small Business Administration, she worked for Seacoast National Bank as Vice President, SBA Underwriter and provided subject-matter expertise for SBA processes and relationships and structured and approved loan requests that abide by the SBA’s eligibility requirements. She also worked at TD Bank where she held many underwriting positions during her tenure.  Outside of the Chamber and the SBA, Ms. Letin gives back to the community by volunteering as a Financial Mentor (Bilingual- Haitian Applicants) for Habitat for Humanity of Martin County in Stuart Florida. She is also a Board of Director.

Ms. Letin has over 20 years of experience in finance/banking industry. She is Certified in RMA Commercial Credit for Lenders, she completed Formal Credit Analyst Training at TD Bank and she obtained Small Business Association (SBA) Lender Diploma through National Association of Government Guarantees Lenders- NAGGL. Ms. Letin obtained her master’s degree in business administration (MBA) in International Business at Florida Atlantic University and bachelor’s degree in International Management (with a minor in French) from Manhatanville College. During her undergraduate education, she studied French culture and civilization at the Sorbonne in Paris, France where she resided abroad for 1 year as an international student. As a result, Ms. Letin is able to offer trilingual communication speaking both Haitian-Creole and French additionally.
