Dr. Marie M. Remy

Board Member

Dr. Marie M. Remy is a Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She was born in Haiti. and came to the United States at the age of 14. She lived in New York for 21 years then relocated to Florida in 2003. She has been a resident of St Lucie County for the past 15 years.

She obtained her Associate in Nursing degree from Rockland Community College in Suffern, NY. She later obtained her Bachelors degree in Health Sciences from Mercy College in Dobbs, Ferry, NY. She completed her Masters and Doctorate degrees in nursing from Barry University in Miami Shores, FL. In 2018, she completed her Post Masters/ Post doctorate in Psychiatric Nursing form the University of Miami.

Dr Remy is very passionate about community work. She serves as the Chairwoman of the Haitian American Council of St Lucie County. She is the host of a bilingual English and Haitian/Creole TV show call “Sak Pase St Lucie” (What’s Happening St Lucie) a program fully supported by the St Lucie Public schools. She is also the host of Connection radio show. She serves as the secretary for the House of Hope Orphanage in Haiti for the past 20 years. She is a former member of Haiti Clinic of Vero Beach where she served as a volunteer nurse. She traveled to Haiti with the team on a regular basis caring for the victims of the 2010 earthquake. She is a former member of the Whole Family Health Center of Fort Pierce. She works closely with members of the St Lucie County Health department, the St Lucie County Schools and local state  College to help promote education to the underserved members of the community especially the Haitian community.

She was the recipient of the Rockland Community College nursing department award in 1992 for outstanding personal achievement. She has been the recipient of local and national honors including the 2008 National Haitian American Health Alliance Award for her leadership and community work. She was the 2010 ESOL Service Award Recipient from Indian River State College in Fort Pierce Florida. She received the 2010 Dessalines Spirit award from Haiti Deploge.. She was one of the 2011 Tenet Healthcare Heroes, at St Mary’s Medical Center for her community involvement here and in Haiti. She was one of several recipients of the Higher Education Minority Scholarship Award from Barry University in 2015.

Dr Remy works as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Port St Lucie behavioral hospital. She is the owner and medical director of Connect Healthcare Services providing primary and mental health services to members in the community.
